Lekenik brings together two very different film stories. In Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Turopoljska Street became part of Anatevka, the village where Tevye the milkman lives. Its wooden houses and traditional architecture helped create the world of a celebrated screen musical.
Four decades later, Lekenik was among the filming locations for The Brave Adventures of a Little Shoemaker (2013), directed by Silvije Petranović and adapted from Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić’s novel.
