About This Production

In this 1996 film, a father tries to get his son out of an army barracks as the local community gathers outside. Written by Vinko and Ivo Brešan, the story finds laughter without losing sight of the fear behind it.

Minerska Bay in Šibenik preserves the real filming location. The former military site is now associated with the St Anthony’s Channel Visitor Centre, where a pasta-themed installation recalls the film’s most familiar culinary plea.
